Maxx-Dri Vest sizing - What size 221B Tactical Maxx-Dri Vest should I order?

There's nothing worse than researching a product, reading reviews, speaking to friends about it and finally making the decision to make the purchase...only to have it arrive and not fit! And if it's a product that's designed to keep you safer and more comfortable, having to go through the return and exchange process is even more painstaking. So if you've decided to purchase the world-renowned Maxx-Dri Vest for body armor cooling, comfort and ventilation but you're not exactly sure what size you should order, you're in the right place.

For the sake of brevity, we are going to focus on the two most popular models to date: The Maxx-Dri Vest 3.0 and The Maxx-Dri Vest 3.0 SL. The fit and sizing of both models are identical. The only difference between the two is the material from which they are made. The 3.0 is made with a material which is 8mm thin and the 3.0 SL is made with a material which is 6mm thin.

Both vests come in four (4) sizes. They are: XS/S - M/L - XL/XXL and 3XL/4XL. Because these vests feature adjustable Velcro side closures (just like your body armor), they easily adjust to fit a wider array of body types. Hence why each Maxx-Dri vest size covers two (2) conventional sizes.

So how do know which Maxx-Dri Vest size is right for you? The easiest way to choose your Maxx-Dri size is to simply go by your t-shirt size. So, if you're a size large t-shirt, go with the M/L. If you're a size XL t-shirt, go with the XL/XXL. You get the picture.

But what happens if you're in between sizes? For instance, you wear size XL t-shirts but you wear size large t-shirts as well. In cases like this, you should always lean toward the smaller Maxx-Dri Vest size. So for the example above, this individual should go with the M/L Maxx-Dri Vest. Could they go with the XL/XXL? Yes. But the risk here is that you have excess material beneath your body armor which is something you don't want.

Often times Police Officers who are in between sizes (like in the above scenario) go up in size, for fear of the Maxx-Dri vest being too snug. But 9 out of 10 times this is the wrong decision. Not only do the Velcro side closures on the Maxx-Dri vest give you plenty of adjustability, but the proprietary Maxx-Dri material has some stretch in it as well.

We hope this article helps answer some of your questions about the sizing of your Maxx-Dri Vest for body armor comfort and ventilation. Now that you know what size Maxx-Dri vest to purchase, all that's left to do is order one (or two) and start enjoying the many benefits of Maxx-Dri vest ownership for years to come.
